The Acting National Chairman of the PDP Ambassador Umar Damagun has described the just concluded North East Zonal Congress of the party as an attestation to the fact that the PDP remains united and ready to take over presidency in 2027.
Damagun stated this at the just concluded PDP Zonal Congress in Bauchi State.
The over six hundred PDP North East delegates led by the three PDP Governors of Bauchi, Adamawa and Taraba States converged on Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu Square at the Government House in Bauchi to elect leaders to steer the ship of the party in the zone.
Chairman of the electoral committee, Ruben Okoya said the process was peaceful with the participation of six hundred and twenty two accredited delegates across the six states of the North East.

Holders of the twenty two elective positions were returned unopposed.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected PDP North East Zonal Chairman Babangida Umar Modibbo alongside other elected officials said it is necessary for the members to work in unity towards strengthening and reuniting members of the party for its success ahead of the 2027 general election.
In an interview with journalists, the acting PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagun who was visibly overwhelmed maintained that the exercise is a clear demonstration of strong internal democracy exhibited by the Party members.
