Lakurawa Bandits invade 2 Villages, kill 6 People in Kebbi State

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris visits 2 Communities attacked by Lakurawa Bandits.

Suspected bandits Lakurawa, have allegedly invaded two villages killing six people and rustling an unspecified number of animals, in Kangiwa Local Government Area of Kebbi State, North west Nigeria.

According to Sani Aliyu Taila, Chairman Kangiwa Local Government area, the unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday night when the bandits invaded the two villages to rustle animals.

They shot one person in Bagiza village and killed five others in Rausa Kade village.

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has visited the villages and assured the communities of strengthened security, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity.

The Governor emphasized the progress made so far in restoring peace, particularly in Kebbi South.

He noted that many of the challenges stemmed from nefarious activities of criminals infiltrating from some neighbouring states.

He decried the lack of robust security measures in neighbouring states which has made it easier for criminals to cross over and attack Kebbi communities.

Idris pledged to intensify security efforts in the area and directed the immediate installation of two motorized solar boreholes in Bagiza.

The Village Head, Samaila Umar, and the Chief Imam, expressed gratitude for the governor’s visit and his commitment to addressing their needs.

The Governor also provided financial support, amounting to ₦2.5 million to the family of the victim and community leaders.
