Residents of Eleyewo, Ilu Abo and Bolorunduro, in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State are counting their loses after the Monday heavy downpour, which led to the destruction of properties worth millions of Naira.
The rains which started at about 6:30 pm, wreaked havoc on vehicles, shops and other valuables for hours in the communities.

However, no lives have been reportedly lost due to the heavy rainfall and its havoc.
Some of the victims told ait.live that the rain, which started at a normal rate, grew worse with accompanying winds, which eventually turning into a heavy storm that blew off rooftops and destroyed everything on its path.

Residents said the unexpected heavy downpour damaged several houses, shops, church buildings, electric poles, schools, among others.
The people are therefore pleading with the State Government and other relevant aid Agencies to assist them rebuild their lives and homes.
