A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has described the appointments of President Bola Tinubu as lopsided, especially in the Northwest zone with Zamfara State, which gave him overwhelming votes that enabled him to win the 2023 Presidential election.

He stated this while addressing journalists in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, Over the Inauguration of his Wamban Shinkafi Democratic Front (WSDF), urging President Tinubu to address the imbalance in his appointments and the security challenges still wreaking havoc on residents of the State.

Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi who had resigned his membership as National Secretary of the board of trustees of the All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the then Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed lamented that Zamfara and Jigawa States were the only two States in the Northwest which President Bola Tinubu won in the last Presidential election but Zamfara has not been rewarded accordingly.

He considers the lopsided appointments of Bola Tinubu’s Presidency as a serious betrayal to the people of Zamfara State, and if that is not corrected, it could jeopardize the 2027 ambition of President Bola Tinubu, as the Northwest will not give him the votes they gave in the last Presidential election.

Shinkafi called on the president to redouble his administration’s efforts to tackle the security challenges bedevilling the Country, especially Zamfara State, where the armed violent groups are still killing, maiming and abducting innocent people as well as displaced communities across the State.

The APC Chieftain who was one of the loyalists of the Current minister of State for Defence said he now left the minister’s camp to form his political movement; called, ‘Wamban Shinkafi Democratic Front’ (WSDF) to mobilize people in the fourteen Local Government Areas of the state to fight the injustice which has been melted to Zamfara North and Central which produce one term Governor unlike the west that produces three Governors and enjoyed 16 years of democratic rule.

He claimed that the APC in Zamfara State has been divided, and lost the trust and confidence of members, vowing that they will resist the imposition of candidates in the 2027 General Election, calling on the party to ensure strict adherence to the rules of Internal party Democracy.
