Benue Govt/ UNICEF Sign MOU To Boost Health, Education,And Social Protection

As part of measures to boost health care delivery,nutrition,improve educational standards as well as social protection the Benue State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The signing ceremony took place, at the Government House in Makurdi with the Deputy Governor Sam Ode signing on behalf the State Government.

Memorandum of understanding between the Benue State Government and the United Nations Children’s fund UNICEF has been officially inaugurated.

Targeted at ensuring 70% healthcare coverage, preventing malnutrition and providing essential medication the agreement equally aims at implementing birth registration initiatives as well as strengthen community structures to support vulnerable children and families.

Other priority areas include Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), with plans to upgrade local government WASH units for better sanitation services, and Education, through enhanced teacher training, improved foundational learning, and increased access to education, particularly in rural areas.

This official signing of the Memorandum of understanding makes a significant step towards the attainment of durable solutions in the State.
