Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh has urged states within the Niger Delta region to work closely with Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC to transform the oil rich region.
The minister stated this while inaugurating the 23.7 kilometre Ndoro-Ntalakwu road network in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
For the past three weeks, the NDDC board and management have been on a spree of projects commissioning with the aim of transforming the lives of people in the Niger Delta region.
The latest to be inaugurated is the Ndoro-Ntalakwu road network in Umuahia.
Chairman of the NDDC, Chiedu Ebie and the managing director of NDDC Samuel Ogbuku said the progress made so far is in response to the support of President Bola Tinibu’s administration and the commitment of stakeholders within the region.
The road project which cuts across Umuahia South and Ikwuano Local Government Areas of the state had been stalled since it was awarded in 2019 until the intervention of the current board and management of the NDDC.
