Seven members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Working Committee have resigned their positions.
The affected officials cited various reasons for their actions.
The mass resignation is seen as a strategy to mount pressure for the removal of Party’s National Chairman, Uche Secondus from office.
Meanwhile, PDP’s National Organising Secretary, Austin Akobundu denies reports that 7 members of the party’s National Working Committee have resigned their positions.

Akobundu in a telephone conversation with ait.live notes that those who resigned are deputy members of the party’s National Executive Committee.
He however refused to comment on the reasons for their resignation.
