The Jama’atu Nasril lslam (JNI), Plateau state chapter has condemned the recent killings in Jos South, Riyom and Bassa local government areas in the state, saying the killing is against the teaching of Islam.
The Islamic body, described the development as worrisome, saying that it shows serious danger in the efforts being made to ensure peace by the state and federal government.

The Plateau state JNI Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sani Mudi in a statement on Monday also lamented the invasion of Miago Chiefdom, killing, injuring many persons and burning houses as well as destroying crops on farmlands.
The body advised the affected communities to sheath their swords and ensure dialogue toward achieving lasting peace and harmony in the state.
The statement noted with dismay that the attacks are worrisome developments posing serious threats to the peace efforts of the state government to solidify the gains made through its peace-building activities which have so far delivered impressive results.
The JNI further advised that for lasting peace to be achieved in parts of the state, stakeholders must critically look into the root causes with a view to addressing them.
