The Yenagoa State High Court handling the matter on the suspended APC Party Congresses in Bayelsa State has put the hearing on hold till September 27.

This development followed an application by the defendant, the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Port Harcourt Division of the Appeal Court, Rivers State, where countersuit was filed.

Presiding Judge, Justice Iniekenimi , who had on the 30th of July at the instance of a suit filed by three aggrieved APC members, restrained the party from holding the Congress in the state, said the matter would now be heard after the determination of the suit at the appellate court.

Speaking to journalists, both counsels for the defendant, Shuaibu Aruwa, and plaintiff, aggrieved party members, James Fawei expressed satisfaction with the ruling.
There was however a contention on whether the elective congresses can now be held with the case going on in Port Harcourt.
Earlier, there was confusion of double representation, when suspended Legal Adviser of the Bayelsa State APC, Chris Olorogun showed up, claiming authorization to appear for the APC.
Olorogun, was however excused when he could not back his claim with documents before the judge recognized the legal team led by Shuaibu Aruwa.
