It was a Joyous moment for the government and people of Bayelsa state as the first commercial airline landed at the state international airport.
Governor Douye Diri and some National and state assembly members say, with the commencement of commercial flights at the airport, the state will experience rapid economic growth, manpower development and a boost in tourism potentials.
The commercial airline touched down on the Bayelsa state international airport at 3:40pm Nigerian time from the Murtala Muhammed international airport in Lagos and Governor Douye Diri was the first to alight from the aircraft.

The elated Bayelsa governor spoke to journalists shortly after his arrival.
Others who boarded the flight to Bayelsa, say the state is making significant progress in economic growth
The Bayelsa state international airport was commissioned on the 10th of February 2020.
