The Police in Kano State has arrested one Mahmud Ibrahim, aged 26, for attacking some residents at the Kumbotso Local Government Area with a gun.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement said the command received distress calls from the people of the community about a robbery.
Upon the receipt of the calls, the Commissioner of Police, Samaila Dikko, raised and instructed a team of policemen to proceed to the scene and arrest the culprit.
The police team eventually arrested the suspect who had a pump-action gun. Kiyawa, said the suspect sustained injuries while attempting to escape and was rushed to the hospital for treatment and later released to the police.
He said the suspect confessed to have committed series of armed robberies, alone, over two years in Kano and Niger States.

The suspect also claimed to have gotten the pump-action gun during one of his armed robbery operations in Niger State.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a discreet investigation, assuring that the suspect will be charged to court.
