While commiserating with the revered Islamic Scholar who earlier played host to the victims in Bauchi, Bello said he was saddened by the tragic killing of innocent citizens and described the act as barbaric and cruel, noting that the government at all levels are working to ensure perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book speedily.

While commending the proactive measures taken by the authorities in Plateau State under the leadership of Governor Simon Lalong to forestall further breach of law and order, he assured the Islamic Cleric of the preparedness of security agencies to fish out the perpetrators for prosecution. The governor who earlier called on the people not to take laws into their hands appealed to the affected citizens to allow the security agencies to do their investigations and prosecution.

Governor Bello commiserated with the families of all those who lost their lives in the unfortunate occurrence and prayed that the Almighty Allah will give their families and other Nigerians the fortitude to bear the great loss.

Recall that some travellers reportedly members of the Tijjaniyah Movement while travelling from Bauchi to Ondo state were attacked in Rukuba area of Jos, Plateau State on Saturday leading to the death of some persons while others sustained injuries.
