Buhari read the riot act to Service Chiefs

President Muhammadu Buhari has read the riot act to top security officials, and said, he will not hesitate to replace them if he is not satisfied with their performance.

The President also said he will do all possible to turn around the fortunes in the theatre of security operations, adding that he is not ready to leave the government as a failure.

The President’s marching orders were reeled out by the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, at the end of the National Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Thursday.

Monguno said the issue of widespread hunger in the country was being addressed.

He also noted that the insecurity in the Northwest was discussed at the meeting and the recent killings in Plateau state.

Monguno stressed that the government will continue to work to ensure the safety of citizens.
