Students of the University of Jos, UNIJOS, in Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria have raised fresh alarm over continuous attacks on them by hoodlums whom they said have killed 4 students in the last 5 days.

This follows the killing of a 100 level student of the University, Iyaje Patrick who was allegedly pulled out of a tricycle and stabbed to death around Bauchi Road in Jos North LGA of Plateau State.

Speaking while addressing newsmen in Jos, President of the Students Union Government, SUG, Danladi Adankala, alleged that despite the continued killings, there was no genuine commitment by the government to address the ugly trend.

The SUG President who said they have cried out over the security situation but it had ended just on the walls of their social media accounts narrates how the students were being killed.

He, therefore, called on the government as a matter of urgency to expand the scope of transportation services available to students and staff both on and off-campus adding that it will enable them to boycott the services of tricycle and motorcycle operators most of whom they suspect are among their attackers and killers.
