Nigeria’s House of Representatives has rescinded some alteration bills seeking to review the death penalty law and removal of immunity for the Offices of the Vice President, governors, and deputy governors barely twenty-four hours after passing the bills through second reading
Leader of the House, Julius Ihonvbere, made this resolution known at plenary this Thursday.

Deputy Speaker of the House, Benjamin Kalu, who is presiding over the plenary session, explained that the decision on the bills is to give room for a more robust debate by the lawmakers on the matter
While communicating the House apologies to the sponsors of the bills, Kalu said the action became necessary considering the importance of the subject matter
