The Secretary to the Katsina State Government, SSG, Mustapha Inuwa, has confirmed the release of his abducted 78-year-old brother, Kabir Muhammed, after spending 5 days with his abductors.

Inuwa who made the confirmation to ait.live via telephone through his Chief Press Secretary, Abdullahi Yar’adua said, he was released on September 6 with no ransom paid.

According to Yar’adua, it was a technical rescue operation, conducted by the security agencies, especially the police, by arresting the parents of the suspected bandits.

He added that the bandits who carried out the abduction were those residing within the Danmusa forest area.

It was gathered that the residents within the area knew the suspected bandits, thereby, facilitating the easy lead for security agencies to trace their homes and arrested their parents.

Yar’adua further said, it was when the news of the arrest of their parents got to them, that they release the victim.

The SSG’s media aide who, however, did not mention how many of the bandits were involved, gave kudos to the security agencies for their display of professionalism.

He said the 78-year-old Kabir Muhammed who is hale and hearty, has since been reunited with his family and is doing well.

It may be recalled that the victim was abducted alone while on his farm on Wednesday, September 1, in Diftau, located in Danmusa Local Government Area.
