The Katsina state chapter of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore says, it is joining It’s National Secretariat to distance itself from the statement credited to the National Secretary of the Association, Saleh Alhassan, where he made derogatory statements calling Governor Aminu Masari unprintable names.

Saleh had in a recent interview vented anger on Masari for daring to label the Fulanis as primarily responsible for banditry in the North.

The Chairman of the Katsina State chapter of the Association, Hassan Kuraye, who stated their stance in a press conference in Katsina, said they are also pleading with the Governor for forgiveness over the incident

The position of the state chapter of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore is coming less than 48 hours after Governor Aminu Masari spoke to ait.live while reacting to the statement, he thereafter threatened legal action.

The Public Relations Officer of the Association, Izma Yamadi, speaking on behalf of the chairman, Hassan Kuraye said, considering the enormous contributions made by the Governor in tackling farmers/Herders clashes in the state, such statement is unwarranted and uncalled for.

He added that, while the view of Saleh is not of the National Secretariat, the state chapter too had to swing into action and distance itself from the statement, believing that the National Secretary must be regretting his action at the moment.

The association also hinted that in the coming days, the National President and other exco members will be in Katsina to visit the governor, to plead with him over the incident.

They however pledged to keep assisting the state government in its quest to find a lasting solution to the issue of banditry facing the state.
