NANS protests Immigration officers alleged brutalisation of student in Ekiti

Students under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Ekiti State axis, are demanding justice for one of their own, Omoboriowo Emmanuel, who was allegedly brutalised by the men of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Ado Ekiti.

The students while narrating the ordeal of the brutalized student, noted that Emmanuel suffered a broken leg and fractured his neck, as a result of the beating he received.

The incident has led the Ekiti state command of the Nigeria Immigration Service complex to be barricaded by the student leaders who are protesting against the conduct of the men of the NIS.

The student leaders said trouble started after Omoboriowo Emmanuel had an altercation with the men of the NIS, over a parking space following his visit to the NIS office for a Visa application.

The students while demanding justice for Omoboriowo Emmanuel, said he was hospitalised after the incident.

In his reaction, the State Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Alphonsus Achilonu, said that Emmanuel could not establish his mission to the office of the NIS, as he already had a valid international passport.

But the student leaders are asking the Nigeria immigration service to take responsibility for the ugly incident, by paying the hospital bills of Emmanuel Omoboriowo.
