Political and Traditional Leaders, from the three local government areas that make up the Kalabari Kingdom, have called for the immediate and unconditional release of expatriate staff of the construction company, handling the trans kalabari road.

The traditional rulers and political leaders who said this after a closed-door meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, pledged their support for Governor Nyesome Wike for bringing the dividends of democracy to the kalabari kingdom.

The Stakeholders meeting at the instance of the Rivers State deputy governor, Ipalibo Harry- Banigo, was to discuss ways to stop a recurrence of such ugly kidnapping incidents.

The construction of phase one of the trans kalabari road by the wike administration is a dream come true for the people, who have waited for nearly ten decades for the road project saying they will resist every attempt to sabotage the timely completion of the project.

In a communique at the end of their meeting, the People of the Kingdom warned mischief makers to stay clear off their domain and let Governor Wike fulfilled his transformation agenda for Rivers state.

Besides ensuring that the several riverine communities are accessible by roads, the construction of the trans- kalabari road, will also open huge economic opportunities for the people of the area.
