Unconfirmed report says, more than four high tension electric power towers have been blown up by the Non-state Armed Group Operatives, ISWAP Faction, in the vicinity of Auno, along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road.

The unconfirmed information indicates that more than four high tension towers that supplied electricity from Damaturu to Maiduguri were blown up again by the suspected members of ISWAP Fighters Friday night.

The incident was said to have happened in Garin Kuturu Village, about two kilometres away from Auno.

According to the report, the dastardly act started at about 7 pm and lasted up to around 10 pm.

The source said, four towers are already on the ground, while the fifth one is about to fall.

Efforts to confirm the report from security authorities in Borno did not yield results as their phones were not reachable.

As it is now, the restoration of electricity to Maiduguri the Borno State capital is not quickly in sight, unless the Borno State government adopts more pragmatic strategies, to see to the end of the incessant destruction of high tension towers, that supply electricity to the state.
