A suspected 34-year-old bandit doctor, Murtala Umar and a 45-year-old food supplier, Yakuba Abubakar, have both been arrested by the Police in Katsina State, for supporting Banditry.
The spokesman of the command, Superintendent of Police Gambo Isah said, while Umar was arrested for allegedly treating bandits who sustained injuries in the forest, Abubakar supplied the bandits with essential commodities.

The suspected 34-year-old medical personnel, Murtala Umar, claimed that he studied Junior Community Health Extension Work, at the School of Health Technology, in Kankia Local Government Area of the state, and owns a chemist at Tashar Mai-Alewa Village, in Danmusa Local Government Area.

On his involvement with the criminals , Umar said, he was approached by the bandits brandishing sophisticated weapons and warning him never to reveal their identities or risk being killed.
He added that the bandits told him, to also be treating their wounded colleagues, or risked being abducted whenever he failed.
He however expressed regrets for his failure to report to the security agencies.
For the suspected 45-year-old Yakuba Abubakar who owns and runs a provision store at the same Tashar Mai-Alewa Village in Danmusa Local Government Area, he was alleged to be a bandits’ foodstuffs supplier.
He said he was aware of the security challenges containment order and pleaded to be pardoned, saying, the only regret was failure to have reported to the appropriate security agencies.
Both men according to Superintendent of Police Gambo Isah, will be charged to court, at the end of investigation.
