A Former Military Head of State, General Abdul-Salami Abubakar, has called on Nigerians, to chart a common front, to address the challenges confronting the country.
General Abdul-Salami Abubakar made the call in an interview with Journalists in Minna, Niger State, on the sixty-first Independence anniversary.
The former head of state said, governments at all levels must ensure equity, fairness and justice, to take the country to the desired destination.
The Elder State man,charged the Federal Government, to recruit more security personnel and equip them adequately, to enable them overcome the current security challenges, bedevilling the country.
He maintained that Nigeria cannot afford to break up, as some groups have been agitating, for a very long time.

On Nigeria at sixty-one, he emphasised that the country has every cause to celebrate, for keeping the country one, since independence.
He further called on the Federal Government to always celebrate the country’s founding fathers for the sacrifices they made, to achieve the desired results.
Abdul-Salami Abubakar, called on the media to avoid castigating their leaders, as nation-building is a tremendous task, that requires the support of every citizen.
