President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the police and other security agencies to ensure that the November 6 Anambra State Governorship Election is peaceful and devoid of any form of violence.

Minister of Police Affairs Muhammed Dingyadi disclosed this to State House correspondents on Thursday at the end of the National Security Council meeting chaired by the President at Aso Rock.

Dingyadi stated that the security operatives will be deployed not to intimidate the electorate but to give them the necessary confidence to come out and vote particularly amidst threats by secessionist groups.

The Minister also added that the Federal Executive Council received reports of improved security situation in the North Western part of the country.
