Former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko is set to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Sources said that a ceremony to herald Mimiko’s defection will take place this Thursday in his home state, Ondo.

Mimiko defected to the Zenith Labour party, ZLP, in the build-up to the 2019 General election and contested for the Ondo Central Senatorial seat but lost to PDP’s Ayo Akinyelure.

He had won the governorship on the platform of the Labour Party in 2007 but had to get an Appeal Court verdict in his favour to dislodge Olusegun Agagu, and became the lawful occupant of the Alagbaka Government House, a year later.

Some PDP Governors and leaders are expected to grace the official defection of the two-term Governor of Ondo State.

Mimiko was a member of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, at the advent of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic, where he served as Commissioner for Health in the Adefarati administration.
