The Court of Appeal sitting in Port- Harcourt, Rivers State has reserved judgment for Friday October 29, 2021 on the appeal brought by the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus against the PDP, one Ibeawuchi Ernes-Alex and eleven others.

The three-man panel led by Haruna Simom Tsammani reserved the judgment after counsels to the parties argued and adopted their final written addresses.

The internal Crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party in recent weeks took a new dimension following the notice of a renewed legal tussle by the legal team of the suspended National Party Chairman,

Prince Secondus is asking for an Interim order of injunction restraining the PDP from holding its national convention scheduled for Saturday 30 and 31 of October, 2021 pending the determination of the substantive appeal.

Counsel to Secondus, Tayo Oyetibo (SAN) shortly after the court session punctured the allegation that his client was vehemently opposed to the conduct of the party’s convention.

On his part, counsel to the first to the sixth respondents, Henry Bello while expressing confidence in the court, cautioned against the publication of fake news especially on sensitive judicial matters.

Fridays’s ruling is expected to either mar or chart a way forward for thousands of party faithful who are already gearing up for the National convention.
