The Project Inspection Team of the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has been attacked on Wednesday by some youths of Utah Community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The attack left some members of the Senator Ifeanyi Ubah team seriously injured but with no deaths recorded at the time of filing this report.

The inspection team had gone before the senator to prepare for the inspection of one of his constituency projects within the community when some youths of Ugah, the home town of the All Progressive Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Andy Uba, attacked the team.

The Police Area Commander of Ugah when contacted, immediately dispatched a team of police personnel to control the situation.

The legal aide of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, Anyanwu Benard, while narrating the ordeal, said that a group of young men led by the owner of one Evergreen Bar, in Ugah community, had confronted him and his team and ordered that they vacate the healthcare centre.

Benard told the police that he was beaten up before he hurriedly made his way to the area command to report the incident.

As at the time of filing this report, the victim had lodged a formal complaint with the Police Area Command, and investigations are said to be ongoing.

Senator Ifeanyi had on November 2, commissioned a primary health care centre in the same local government.

This is supposed to be the second project stipulated to be commissioned by the senator, as part of his constituency project in Aguata Local Government, before the November 6, 2021, governorship elections.
