The new Commissioner of Police deployed to Edo state, Monday Agbonika on Tuesday assumed duty at the state police command headquarters as the fiftieth to take the position in the state.
The new Commissioner of police who took over from Betty Otimenyin has assured keeping crime at its lowest ebb in the state with a promise to partner various communities and their leaders.
He was received at the police command headquarters with a guard of honour and the management team of the command.
After the inspection of the guard in his honour, the new Commissioner of police quickly settled down to the job at hand as he met with heads of divisions and units in the command to brainstorm on crime fighting strategies
Speaking with journalists, Agbonika says with the briefing he got from the Inspector General of police on the situation in Edo, he intends to approach crime fighting and crisis situations in partnership with communities and their leaders to proffer solutions to the problems.
Monday Agbonika, an indigene of Idah in Kogi state, solicits maximum cooperation from the government and residents of the State, as he seeks to ensure that peace and stability reigns in Edo sstate.
