Nigeria’s House of Representatives has summoned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello over the growing security situation and fast deterioration of infrastructure and facilities in the city.
The resolution was reached following Motion of Urgent Public Importance moved by House Deputy Minority Leader, Toby Okechukwu on the need to arrest the fast deterioration of the Territory
The lawmaker who lamented the influx of criminals into the city expressed concern over the lack of security infrastructure needed to tackle the city’s challenges saying most of the available infrastructure lacks proper maintenance by the FCT Administration.

The Minister is expected to appear before Committee of the Whole in the House of Representatives in the coming weeks to brief it on the issues outlined in the motion.
