The Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi says, the tasks before the Nigerian Armed Forces are enormous and cannot be achieved singlehandedly by one corps or service.
The minister said this in Jaji, at the 2021 reunion and lecture series of the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps.

He said the infantry must assert itself to end insurgency and other forms of criminality in the country.
The gathering of both serving and retired infantry officers of the Nigerian Army is to evaluate the challenges and proffer solutions to addressing the current security situation of the nation.
The Minister of Defence, eulogized the infantry for its gallantry over the years.
He admonished the Nigerian Army to continue to work with other corps to end the insurgency.
The Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai in his lecture titled, ‘the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps in Perspective,’ emphasized the need for the infantry to be versatile both in tactics and procedures.
