Several public and civil servants have been prevented from gaining access into their offices over failure to produce evidence of receiving covid-19 vaccine.

A visit to some parastatals and agencies show that some who were disallowed access were still hanging arround, while others returned home immediately.

Some of the workers who were turned back told ait.live off camera that the Federal Government cannot compel them to take the vaccine against their will.

The Presidential Steering Committee of covid-19 had asked Civil servants from grade level twelve and below to resume work in full scale from December one, under one condition, ‘You must have been vaccinated.

The head of the federal civil service, Folasade Yemi-Esan had also released a circular in which she directed workers to take the vaccine before December one, 2021 or will not be allowed into official premises.

Meanwhile, the President of the Nigeria Civil Service union, Lawrence Amaechi, in a telephone conversation with air.live said Government should not force any worker to take the covid-19 vaccine.

The Civil Service union president, however advised workers to approach centres and take advantage of the free vaccine to remain safe from both the virus and the harassment of not being vaccinated.
