The All Progressives Congress, (APC), Appeal Committee for Zamfara State Congress has affirmed the election of a 36-member State Executives of the party.
The Secretary of the Committee, Usman Mohammed said the Tukur Danfulani-led executive belonging to Governor Bello Mohammed’s faction of APC is the authentic executive of the party in Zamfara State.
The national appeal committee said it did not receive the petition from any aggrieved member after three days of sitting in Gusau, the state capital.
The appeal committee was sent from the party’s National Secretariat to Zamfara State to take complaints arising from the congresses.
According to the Secretary, they were given five days to receive and resolve complaints from genuine card-carrying members of the party, who participated in the just concluded congresses in the state.
Mohammed said the committee was given five days, from Monday to Friday, to receive complaints on the conduct of the state congress, from members of the party.
AIT had earlier reported that Governor Mohammed and Senator Marafa-led factions held parallel congresses to elect new party officials in the state with another faction loyal to former Governor Abdulaziz Yari boycotting the exercise.
