Members of the Osun State Executive Council have dismissed rumours that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
They made this known during a Press briefingin Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Last week, members of the House of Representatives from Osun State had passed a Vote of Confidence on Governor Adeleke, following the defection of Wole Oke, who represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Nigerian ruling party at the centre.
Commissioners and Special Advisers serving in the cabinet of Governor Adeleke have also thrown their weight behind him, endorsing his second-term bid.
They expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership, noting that the remarkable achievements of his administration in just over two years have significantly transformed the State.
The State Executive Council members optimistic that Governor Adeleke has no intention of leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the focus of the governor now is to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
They appealed to people of the State to continue to support the government of Ademola Adeleke.
