Governor Okpebholo also confirmed the permanent absorption of over 2,000 contract teachers into the state’s civil service following a thorough review.

ait.live reports that these educators were initially hired under the Edo Supporting Teachers to Achieve Results (EdoSTAR) program during the administration of former Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Meanwhile, the News has sparked widespread jubilation among the affected teachers, many of whom had served in temporary positions for years.

The 2025 event marks Governor Okpebholo’s first Workers’ Day celebration since he assumed office about 6 months ago.
