The Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), has called on the State Governor to stop harassing the factional lawmakers but to resolve the current political impass in the State Assembly.

A statement by the Publicity Secretary of the APC, said it would resist any attempt to witch hunt members of the State Assembly who voiced out their concerns over the security situation in the State, which they claimed the State Government failed to tackle.

The party alleged that the State Government has continued to witch hunt the nine elected members of the state House of Assembly, now using a Chief Magistrate court 1, to order for their arrest without any summons.

APC said that it found the move disturbing and embarrassing that the state government is using the machinery of the judiciary to attack constitutionally elected members of the State House of Assembly for executing their legislative functions and pointing out where the executive is wrong in the discharge of its responsibilities for the public interests.

The party assured that it would continue to be on the side of the law and would not allow judicial officers to be politicised and used against public interests.

It called on the affected members to petition the National Judicial Service Commission against the politically motivated court order illegally granted by the Magistrate in order to serve as a lesson to other judicial officers.
