The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has yet to provide any reason for arrestng Vincent Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man (VDM).

“VeryDarkMan”, a controversial Nigerian social critic, was reportedly taken into the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday

His followers online, known as Ratels led a protest to a Guarantee Trust Bank branch in the Garki area of Abuja

This followed earlier reports that suggested his arrest was linked to the bank.

But ait.live was exclusively informed by the bank’s public relations representative that GTB had no link to the arrest as VDM had completed his business with the bank and freely exited its banking hall before he was apprehended.

On Monday, it was also reported that the influencer’s arrest was based on petition’s of him using his social media platforms to harass, insult, and intimidate individuals, actions classified as cyber bullying under the Cybercrimes Act of 2015.

When ait.live contacted the EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, he denied the claim, saying that the commission has not and will not issue any comment on the matter for now.
