Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has dismissed concerns about Nigeria becoming a one-party state, saying it’s unlikely.

Speaking to State House Correspondents on Tuesday after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa Abuja, Governor Sule said every party wants to be dominant, but a one-party state is not feasible.

The Governor’s comments come amid recent defections from opposition parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), with some critics raising concerns about the potential for a one-party state.

Governor Abdullahi attributed the defections to the success of President Tinubu’s reforms, saying that people are joining the APC because of the party’s performance.

He highlighted Nasarawa State’s achievements in agriculture and renewable energy, particularly mini-grids, the which have earned it recognition as having the highest number in the country.

On lithium battery production, Governor Abdullahi said Nasarawa State is set to commission another lithium project in two months, which will be three times larger than the existing one.

He expressed optimism about the state’s potential for mineral development, citing ongoing projects and investments.

The Governor’s meeting with President Tinubu covered various issues, including the state’s development projects, party matters, and the President’s reforms.
