Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has said his administration will ensure that all necessary measures are put in place to end incidents of regular fire outbreaks in the State
The Governor stated this when he officially handing-over newly procured Fire fighting trucks and equipment to the State Fire Service in Osogbo, the State capital.
About 3 years ago, a devastating mid-night fire outbreak at the Atakumosa Central market in Ilesa, has destroyed goods and property worth millions Naira, then followed by another incident at the Alekuwodo market where a complex and other two buildings were razed.

The untold economic and social effects of these incidents have prompted the State government in resolving that such fire outbreaks must not be allowed to happen again.
Governor Adeleke at a handover ceremony said the last procurement of Fire Trucks in Osun State occurred over 14 years ago, a development he noted is unacceptable as obscure and unserviceable equipment poss great set backs to effective management of emergency situations.
