239 persons are in the custody of the police in Kogi State over alleged offences ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, to cultism, culpable homicide and other criminal activities.
State Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, told journalists in Lokoja during his maiden news conference that the suspects were arrested between February and early May 2025 through effective intelligence gathering and cordial relations with relevant stakeholders
The Commissioner said the command recently adopted a Comprehensive Crime Prevention and Control Strategy through intensive patrols along the major highways, raid of identified criminal hideouts and the conducting of aggressive Stop and Search as well as massive deployment of well- trained, equipped, and motivated officers geared towards ridding Kogi State of all forms of crimes and criminality.

He assured the people of Kogi State of the renewed commitment of the Nigeria Police to sustain the fight against all criminals
He called on residents of Kogi State to support the police genuinely by providing credible and timely information to enable the command rid the state of crimes and their perpetrators
