The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery says his home government’s commitment to follow through on various treaties on extradition and fraud remain in place.
The UK Envoy was reacring to AIT’s enquiries on whether or not the Nigerian government has put in a request for the extradition of the former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mêle Kyari, who is reported to be presently in the United Kingdom following his removal from office.
Some of Kyari’s erstwhile top executives had been interrogated by one of Nigeria’s anti-fraud agency, the EFCC shortly after the new management took over.

Only on Monday, a group of Nigerians protested in front of the Nigerian Mission in Lodon calling for the arrest of the oil technocrat, who has denied any infractions while in office, and called on the Nigerian authorities to formally invite him for questioning.
