Niger State Police Command says it has arrested 2 suspects for dealing in illicit drugs and recovered 327 wraps of cannabis, 38 packs of Emzol tablets, and 4 sachets of tramadol tablets, with cash sum of Two Hundred and Ninety-one Thousand, Two Hundred Naira.
The suspects, according to the Spokesman of the police, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, on May 12, were arrested by Operatives of the 61 Police Mobile Force Kontagora while on routine patrol.
The suspects were arrested along the Babban-Rami/Rafin-Gora road on a Bajaj motorcycle with a bag containing the exhibits.
During interrogation, one of the suspects confessed to being a drug dealer while the other assisted him in the business.
The suspects will be transferred to NDLEA for further investigation and necessary action.


Meanwhile, 5 other suspects have been arrested for armed robbery and snatching of handsets, as well as receiving stolen phones.
Preliminary findings revealed that the suspects entered a shop under the pretence of purchasing some items, and when the attendant was selecting the items requested, the suspect picked up her (the attendant’s) phone and escaped.
Immediately, one of the suspects was arrested, he was searched, and five Android phones were recovered, including the attendant’s phone.
During a search, one handcuff, Jackknife, and other materials of civilian JTF were recovered from the house of one of the suspects.
Also, eleven Samsung phones and fourteen other phones were recovered from the shop of other suspects in Maraba, who is one of their business partners, without any document to back all the phones.
