President Bola Tinubu has committed to creating a safer and more nurturing environment for Nigerian children, as the nation celebrates the 2025 National Children’s Day.

In his message, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of protecting children’s rights and welfare, highlighting the administration’s efforts to prevent and respond to violence against children.

The President noted that one in three children globally experienced bullying, with studies suggesting that up to 65% of school-age children in Nigeria have faced some form of physical, psychological, or social aggressions.

To address this, the President announced the launch of a nationwide “See Something, Say Something, Do Something” campaign, encouraging citizens to become child protection champions.

The President noted that his administration is also investing in child protection systems, including the Child Protection Information Management System and the development of a National Policy on Safety, Security, and Violence-Free Schools.

Tinubu emphasized that every child deserves to grow up in a safe and supportive environment, free from fear and violence.

In her own message, the Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, added her voice to the call against bullying, emphasizing that every child deserves a childhood free from fear and violence.

She urged Nigerians to teach children that strength lies in compassion and that true leadership begins with looking out for one another.
