The Senate on Tuesday received President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for confirmation of appointments of 5 national commissioners of the national population commission
Buhari’s letter seeking the confirmation of the nominees was read by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan at the commencement of plenary on Tuesday.

According to the letter, the request is in accordance of the provisions of session 154 of the 1999 constitution as amended.
The Nominees include
Engineer Benedict Okpri Akwa Ibom State, commissioner.
Mrs Gloria izunfo emenai Delta State, commissioner.
Barr Patricia O. Iyaya kupti Benue State, commissioner.
Dr Bala haliru, Kebbi state, commissioner.
Dr Iyataiyo Oyetunde oyo state, commissioner.
