Gombe State government plans to tap into the opportunities from the Federal Government backed Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Reduction Innovation Initiative (MAMII) to tackle complications associated with the care of mother and child before and after delivery.
This initiative which is at the directive of President Bola Tinibu will also enable women to gain free access to cesarian delivery facilities.
To this end, officials of the Gombe State Ministry of Health had inaugurated a Taskforce that would coordinate the activities of stakeholders towards reducing maternal mortality in the State
As such, stakeholders including traditional and religious authorities had been engaged to understand the benefits of the Federal government initiative.

The Gombe State government and other stakeholders have therefore given their commitments to embrace the ideals of the MAMII project.
Part of the Federal government initiative covers the areas of the training of medical personnel in the management of maternal and neonatal mortality management, as well as taking seriously to preserve the life of the mother and the future of the country.
