Landlady’s Daughter Arrested For Stealing Tenant’s Household Items In Niger State

NIGER STATE

A 24 year old Landlady’s daughter, Nana Mubarak has been arrested by the men of the Niger State Police command for breaking into and stealing a tenant’s property worth a million naira.

The incident was said to have occurred on May 30 at about 4 p.m., when a report was received at Bosso Division indicating that on May 27 at about 2.30pm, a victim/tenant who resides at El-Waziri area, Minna returned home from work and noticed that unknown person(s) broke into his apartment

The tenant also noticed that his household items, such as electrical appliances and other property, were stolen to an unknown destination.

Spokesman of the Police, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, confirmed that the items include one LG Plasma 32-inch television set, one electric cooking stove, half a bag of charcoal, two extension boxes, one 6kg gas cylinder, and one electric blender.

Others items are three kettles and three cooking pots, two electric pressing Irons, three rubber basins, eighteen pieces of wrappers, rubber cups, rubber baskets, A set of white coolers and other kitchen utensils, which are all estimated to cost one million naira.

As a result of this, an intelligence-led investigation was carried out, leading to the arrest of the suspect, Nana Mubarak, who is the Landlady’s daughter, on June 3.

Abiodun added that a search was conducted in her house and all the stolen items except the plasma television were recovered.

During interrogation, she confessed to the crime, stating that she conveyed the items on her head to her home while the victims were away.

Both suspects have been charged in court accordingly.
