The Federal Government has emphasized the urgent need for collaborative, cross-sectoral efforts in combating climate change in Nigeria.
The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal stated this at the opening of a 3-day International Conference with researchers across Nigeria in attendance.
Researchers across Nigeria and beyond, alongside policy makers and students, all converged to proffer solutions to the climate crisis and promote sustainable livelihoods.

Resource persons at the conference noted that the fight against climate change is not a sole mission, but a collective effort where everyone’s perspective is vital.
The Minister of Environment, represented by the Director, Department of Climate Change in the ministry, Abiola Awe, delivered his remarks virtually.
The belief amongst participants is that through strong collaboration and partnerships, Nigeria can reverse the effects of climate change and build a resilient, equitable, and sustainable future.
