Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, says his administration will continue to prioritise projects that will improve people’s lives, particularly connecting rural areas and fostering economic growth.

Governor Diri, speaking in Southern Ijaw and Ekeremor local governments in continuation of his Thank-You Tour of the eight councils in the state, also assures that no project will be abandoned under his administration.

The visit is met with jubilation from the people of the LGA whose aged long dream to be connected by road to other parts of the state is gradually coming to fruition as the ongoing Yenagoa/Oporama road, edges closer to Oporoma, headquarters of Southern Ijaw.

Governor Douye Diri assured his administration that he would not abandon any ongoing projects, highlighting the importance of road infrastructure in driving development.

At Ekeremor the governor was given a warm reception from Chiefs, political leaders, women and youths of the council area.

They expressed gratitude to the Governor for completing the Sagbama-Ekeremor road and kick starting the Ekeremor/Agge road.

Diri explained that his administration is intentional about the roads and other projects under construction in the council and other parts of the state.

So far, the “Thank you tour” train has visited five out of the eight Local governments of the state, drawing hundreds and thousands of supporters.

The remaining three LGAs are Sagbama, Kolokuma/Opokuma and Yenagoa.
