There are strong indications that the all-important National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will hold soon as Samuel Anyanwu Returns as National Secretary of the party.
The make-or-break meeting earlier scheduled for June 30, 2025, was eventually put off under controversial circumstances.
National Chairman Iliya Damagun, while announcing the return of Samuel Anyanwu as Secretary at a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, said a new date will be announced for the meeting while pleading for time to manage the crisis within the party.
He stated that the window will enable the party to prepare well so that it can meet up with INEC’s procedural requirements, bearing in mind the forthcoming local Government elections.
The NEC meeting is expected to focus on key decisions concerning the party’s leadership, internal structure, and position in Nigeria’s political landscape.
