Wife of the President of Nigeria , Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid tribute to women and girls of African descent in celebration of the 2025 International Day dedicated to honouring their achievements, resilience, and global contributions.

In a statement issued on Friday, Senator Tinubu commended African women and girls for their strength and determination in the face of historical and systemic challenges.

“Today, I join millions of Nigerians as we commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls of African Descent , a day that honours the strength, resilience, and courage of African women and girls everywhere,” the First Lady said.

She noted that despite persistent barriers, African women and girls around the world continue to break boundaries and excel across various fields, while also upholding their roles as pillars in their families and communities.
