Troops Neutralize Notorious Terrorist Kingpins In Sokoto State

Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) have neutralised three notorious terrorist kingpins during a deliberate ambush operation in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The ambush was conducted between Mallamawa and Mazau villages in Tsamaye/Mai Lalle District.

A statement by Media Information Officer of the taskforce, Captain David Adewusi said the operation spelt doom for terrorist leaders – Kachalla Nagomma, Gurmu, and Ali Yar Daribiyar.

Adewusi said three AK-47 rifles and a motorcycleycle were recovered from them.

It said the criminals and their foot soldiers were reportedly in the area to collect ransom and levies from the locals when they were intercepted.

The successful operation, according to the statement, sparked widespread relief and jubilation among residents of Mai Lalle, Tsamaye, Rimaye, and other communities who have long endured the atrocities of the terrorists.

Operation FANSAN YAMMA said it remains steadfast in its mission to restore peace and security across the North West and parts of the North Central region and urged the public to continue providing timely and actionable information to support ongoing operations.
