The first privately owned Radio station in Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria, has suspended its pioneer acting manager, Chikwere Odoh, after his now viral Facebook criticism of Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration.
Odoh had on Friday morning, made a weighty criticism of the Ebonyi State Governor on his Facebook page over public perception of his administration.
He claimed that the administration was suffering from poor communication, underperformance by his appointees, and lack of clear policy direction.
He commended Governor Nwifuru for bringing major political stakeholders in Ebonyi together, the likes of Ayim, Umahi, Elechi, Egwu, Ogba, Ben okah, Ogbewu among others but underscored that the stakeholders don’t advice the governor properly on his policies.
He went further to advise Governor Nwifuru to “Step on toes to achieve results,” adding that the current state of affairs in Ebonyi state weakens the governor’s support base.

The now suspended GM also referred to the governor as pampering most of his appointees, which could be linked to the recently viral suspension of 85 government officials, and lifted their suspension barely 7-day later.
The Chief Press Secretary to Ebonyi State Governor, Monday Uzor, in an official Press statement described the Facebook criticism as unfounded and baseless, stressing that the personality of Ebonyi Governor is too big for social media content creation.
Uzor, highlighted supports from the State Government to the Radio Station which includes Operational SUV, brand new transformer and Road construction to the station wondering why the station turned to slaughter house of Governor’s genuine development efforts and goodwill, and lack of balanced reportage of government activities.
Meanwhile, the management of the radio station announced the suspension of its acting GM on Air, citing “unruly behaviour” and disobedience to the code of conduct guiding the radio station.
The management directed the suspended GM to hand over all the company’s property in his possession to the next senior officer.
